Emergency services rushed to Fanny Blankers-Koenlaan just after 6am local time (4am GMT) on Wednesday following reports of a brutal stabbing. The site is a residential centre supporting individuals with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.
Police Officer Among Victims
Dutch police confirmed that one victim was a serving officer. At least one other person is in critical condition. Multiple ambulances and trauma teams were dispatched to the scene, highlighting the severity.
“We received a report of a stabbing incident. There are multiple victims, including a colleague. Several ambulances and a trauma team (MMT) are on site,” said a spokesperson for Politie Eenheid Noord-Holland.
Chaos and Questions as Scene is Sealed Off
The area has been cordoned off with police tape. Emergency vehicles including a trauma helicopter swarmed the scene. Eyewitnesses captured blood-smeared police cars and stretchers near the cordon. So far, no arrests have been confirmed and the motive remains unknown.
