Police have identified the 20-year-old man who was fatally stabbed at a Northampton skate park as Mason Miller. The tragic incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in the Briar Hill area.
During the attack at the Ringway skate park, a 17-year-old was also stabbed and remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries. Emergency services responded promptly to the scene around 3.30pm.
Detectives and officers have been working continuously since the incident. Dozens of officers have launched a full-scale murder investigation. There has been a strong police presence in the area, including house-to-house enquiries and high-visibility patrols to reassure the local community.
Detective Inspector Matt Bly of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit said: “This remains a murder investigation. Our thoughts are with Mason’s family at this difficult time. The family are asking for privacy as they come to terms with this tragedy.”
DI Bly added: “We are pursuing multiple lines of inquiry and need the public’s help. Anyone with information, including CCTV, doorbell or phone footage, should contact us immediately.”

In a related development, two 15-year-old boys and a 14-year-old youth have appeared in court charged with violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon. They were granted conditional bail and placed in local authority care.
