A motorcyclist in his 60s sustained serious injuries following a collision with a van on the A281 Alfold By-Pass near Cranleigh on Thursday morning, 2 April.
The crash took place at approximately 11.45am. Emergency services responded quickly to reports of the incident involving a van and a motorcycle.
The A281 was closed for over seven hours while emergency crews managed the scene and conducted investigations. The road remained closed until shortly after 7pm when it was reopened to traffic.
The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Meanwhile, the van driver, a 24-year-old man from Crawley, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Surrey Police have appealed for witnesses and anyone with dashcam, CCTV, mobile phone, or helmet camera footage of the collision or the events leading up to it to come forward. They are particularly interested in information from anyone who was in the vicinity of the A281 between 11.30am and 11.45am on 2 April.
