Mantas Kudrevicius, 32, has been jailed for four and a half years after admitting to dangerous driving that caused a fatal crash on the A16 near Cowbit, Spalding.
The tragic collision occurred just before midnight on Friday, 30 August. Kudrevicius was driving his BMW 325D Sport towards Spalding when he suddenly swerved into the opposite lane.
His vehicle collided head-on with a Renault Twingo driven by 28-year-old Shinead Francis. The impact forced the Renault off the road, and it caught fire.
Passersby acted quickly to rescue Shinead from the burning car. Despite their heroic efforts and emergency medical aid at the scene, Shinead sadly died as a result of the crash.
At Lincoln Crown Court, Kudrevicius received a driving ban of seven years and three months. He must also pass an extended driving test before being allowed to drive again. Kudrevicius is from Victoria Street, Quorn.
The sentence highlights the serious consequences of reckless driving on British roads and serves as a warning to others.
