Two men from Norwich, Derek Brown, 61, and Kevin Gibbs, 46, have been sentenced to over ten years each after carrying out an armed robbery at a home in Boston.
The pair forced their way inside the property, restrained the female occupants, and repeatedly demanded property while threatening them with a knife and an imitation firearm.
The sentencing took place at Lincoln Crown Court on 8 June 2024, following their guilty pleas entered on 12 March 2024.
Derek Brown was sentenced to 12 years and nine months for robbery, plus a concurrent three-year sentence for possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear. Kevin Gibbs received 11 years and two months for robbery, alongside a concurrent three-year sentence for the imitation firearm offence.
During the incident, the robbers armed themselves with a knife and a realistic-looking imitation firearm, using these weapons to intimidate the female victims while demanding property inside the Boston residence.
Both men admitted guilt to all charges on 12 March 2024. Their prompt guilty pleas contributed to the swift conclusion of the sentencing process at Lincoln Crown Court.
Police investigations into the incident led to the arrests and charges against Brown and Gibbs, ensuring justice for the victims and highlighting the serious legal consequences of armed robbery in the region.
