A massive fire has erupted in a derelict warehouse close to Baker’s Quay in Gloucester. Although the building was empty, the blaze is alarmingly close to the busy Gloucester Quays Fanzone, where thousands of rugby fans are gathered for the England vs Australia match.

Fans are keeping a safe distance, and fortunately, no evacuation orders have been issued at this time. Spectators can clearly see thick smoke rising above the site while cheering on their teams at the nearby rugby fixture.

At 18:47 this evening, Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service received 999 calls reporting the warehouse fire in the Quays area of Gloucester, officials confirmed. Fire crews arrived promptly by 18:51.

Currently, seven fire engines are actively battling the blaze. Two additional units, including an elevated platform and a high-velocity pump, are on their way to assist the firefighters.

Despite the dramatic scenes, authorities say the crowd remains secure for now. Firefighters continue working hard to bring the fire under control. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
