A 23-year-old drug dealer was caught by police attempting to dump crack cocaine in a local park. Levi Beckford’s loud outburst alerted officers and led to his arrest.
Police in Newark noticed Beckford shouting aggressively on Yorke Drive while responding to an unrelated call. Suspecting something was wrong, officers approached the agitated man. A search revealed Beckford was carrying a stash of cash and burner phones, items commonly associated with drug dealing.
Although no drugs were found on Beckford at first, police remained vigilant and expanded their search. They followed him to a wooded area near a playground.
On 19 September last year, officers discovered a large quantity of Class A drugs hidden under a tree close to the children’s play area, confirming Beckford’s involvement in illegal drug activity.
