An elderly man is currently fighting for his life following a hit-and-run collision involving an e-scooter in Ealing. The serious incident took place in broad daylight on The Vale, Ealing, just after 2.30pm on Friday, 23 January.

The collision occurred when an e-scooter rider travelling west struck a man in his 80s. Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service, quickly attended the scene. The pensioner received treatment at the roadside before being rushed to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The e-scooter rider briefly stopped at the scene but then abandoned the e-scooter and fled on foot towards Acton, leaving the victim in a desperate state.

Detective Sergeant Fiaz Janjua from the Metropolitan Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our investigation is ongoing, and we continue to review CCTV footage from the area. We urge anyone who witnessed the accident to come forward. Any information could prove vital to our inquiry.”
