Birmingham drill rapper Tyreece Clarke-Jones, who performs under the name Tallerz, aged 28, escaped from HMP Sudbury on May 23. He was serving a sentence of almost nine years for armed robbery at the time of his escape.

Derbyshire Police have initiated a manhunt to locate Tallerz and have issued a warning to the public, advising against approaching him due to his violent history and the ongoing risk he poses to the community.

Tallerz was convicted in 2021 for his role in an armed raid on a One Stop store located in Handsworth, Birmingham. The robbery, valued at £20,000, involved threats made to G4S security guards using weapons such as an axe and a hammer.

He was also connected to a gang responsible for a series of robberies across Birmingham, with the total value of stolen goods estimated to be around £330,000.

Derbyshire Police are leading the search efforts following the rapper’s escape from the open prison facility. Authorities have emphasised that no member of the public should attempt to confront or detain Tallerz. Instead, anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the police immediately.

There is growing concern within the community, especially on social media, where discussions have focused on the relatively short time remaining on Tallerz’s sentence and the fact that HMP Sudbury is an open prison. Despite these factors, law enforcement officials are treating the escape with utmost seriousness given his violent criminal record.
