A major manhunt is underway following a fatal stabbing outside Rincon Costeno, an Ecuadorian restaurant in South East London. The victim, 23-year-old restaurant owner Migo “Ian” KuKu, was attacked by a moped-riding assailant in front of numerous shocked witnesses.

The deadly attack occurred at 7.46pm on Tuesday, 14 December on Hampton Street, SE1. Emergency services, including police, medics, and the London Air Ambulance, responded quickly but were unable to save Migo, who was pronounced dead upon arrival at the scene.

Friends of Migo have paid heartbreaking tributes, describing him as a brother and “my right-hand man.” They revealed that Migo had already suffered the loss of a young friend in a similar violent incident. His parents had gifted him the restaurant to help him stay focused and on a positive path.

“For him to lose his life like this is mental,” a close friend said. “He was working so hard to make a go of it.”

Police have launched a murder investigation and are actively searching for the attacker. Authorities are appealing for anyone who witnessed the stabbing or has information to come forward. Witnesses are urged to contact police on 101, quoting reference 6908/14DEC. Anonymous tips can also be provided to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
