Coastguard crews from Deal, Dover, and Margate, along with the RNLI Lifeboat from Walmer and Kent Police officers, have launched a major search operation after a person went missing from a houseboat on the River Stour.
The alarm was raised just after 2.30pm on Sunday, 20th March 2022, following reports of the missing individual near Richborough Castle.
Emergency services quickly dispatched numerous personnel to conduct an extensive search on both land and water in the immediate area. A Police Search Advisor (PolSA) is also present on site to assist with the search efforts.
The UK Coastguard operations centre in Dover is coordinating the ongoing search operation.
The situation remains active as Kent Police and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) continue their investigation. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward to aid in the search.
