A shocking incident occurred at The Study Preparatory School in Wimbledon when a car crashed into the school building, killing an eight-year-old girl and injuring dozens of others. The tragic event has deeply affected the local community.
Emergency services responded quickly, treating 16 patients at the scene. Of those, 10 were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Sadly, the young girl involved in the crash later died from her wounds.
The suspected driver, a woman in her 40s, remained at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Police continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the devastating collision.
Wimbledon MP Stephen Hammond expressed his concern over the incident, noting that several victims remain in critical condition. Fire crews, rescue units, and an air ambulance were deployed promptly to manage the emergency. The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that the incident is not terror-related, providing some reassurance amid the tragedy.
