Police responded quickly to a shocking assault in Bexleyheath Market Place this afternoon after a man in his 70s was violently pushed to the ground.
The incident occurred at around 4:05pm on July 10, when emergency services were alerted to the attack. Officers arrived promptly at the scene and found the elderly victim had been shoved down.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at about 16:05hrs on Monday, 10 July to reports of an assault on Market Place in Bexleyheath. Officers attended and were informed that a man, aged in his 70s, had been pushed to the ground.”
Following the assault, two suspects were arrested nearby. Both individuals are currently in custody and being questioned as the investigation continues.
This disturbing attack has left the local community shaken, with police continuing their inquiries into the matter.
