Shock claims have emerged against GB News presenter Dan Wootton, with his ex-boyfriend Alex accusing him of stalking, emotional abuse, and involvement in a secret sex tape scandal. These allegations, shared on Twitter, have left fans and colleagues stunned.
Alex described a troubled relationship with Wootton spanning from late 2009 to early 2013. He alleged that Wootton hacked into his social media and email accounts without consent, leading Alex to suspect he was being stalked. The digital intrusions were reportedly confirmed when Alex discovered his Gmail account had been repeatedly accessed from the News of the World office, where Wootton worked at the time.
While Wootton was visiting family in New Zealand, Alex stayed at his flat to care for their cat. During this period, Alex found a locked bag behind the washing machine. Inside, he claims to have uncovered an external hard drive containing a hidden camera video showing a partner of a Sun employee engaged in sexual acts without their knowledge. Alongside the video was a transcript of an MSN chat discussing a secret £500 deal to produce the tape. The name “Martin Branning,” believed to be an alias used by Wootton, appeared multiple times in the conversation.
In February 2020, following the tragic death of Caroline Flack, Alex tweeted these explosive findings. Shortly after, a mutual friend representing Wootton urged Alex to delete the posts. Feeling intimidated, Alex complied but initially shared the information hoping someone would identify “Branning.” Soon after, a former colleague of Wootton contacted Alex, alleging harassment by “Martin Branning” and suggesting others at The Sun had similar experiences. Alex reported the matter to the Metropolitan Police, but no further action was taken.
Dan Wootton has remained silent amid the fallout, absent from both Twitter and GB News this week. Another presenter has temporarily taken over his role on the channel. GB News has declined to comment on the allegations. These claims are based solely on Alex’s account, and Wootton has denied any wrongdoing. The public awaits further responses from the broadcaster and authorities regarding these serious allegations.
