A woman believed to be in her 70s was seriously injured after being hit by a lorry on Footscray Road, Eltham, at 2.35pm on Friday, December 9.
Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, rushed to the scene to provide urgent medical assistance.
The pedestrian was treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The lorry driver stopped and remained at the scene following the collision.
No arrests have been made so far as police continue their investigation into the incident.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called to Footscray Road following a collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian. The woman was treated by emergency crews before being hospitalised. Enquiries remain ongoing.”
The police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage that could assist the investigation to come forward. Witnesses are asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference CAD 3868/9 Dec.
