Just before 7.50am on Sunday, December 11, police responded to reports of a fight and a man with stab wounds at Barnfield Gardens, SE18. A 28-year-old victim was quickly taken to hospital by police and London Ambulance Service crews with injuries that are not life-threatening.

Moments later, officers were called to a property on Plumstead Common Road where a second injured man was reported. Police attempted to engage with the man inside before forcing entry. Shortly after, the 31-year-old is believed to have fallen from a window. He was hospitalised with injuries not thought to be life-threatening and was later arrested on suspicion of causing great bodily harm.

Both Plumstead Common Road and Bloomfield Road remain closed as officers continue their investigation into the violent incident. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed the case has been referred to the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is urged to call 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting reference 1809/11DEC.
