Two 16-year-old boys, Kearne Solanke and Charlie Bartolo, have been fatally stabbed just a mile apart in a shocking double murder in South East London.
Birthday Joy Turned Nightmare
Happy birthday photos show Kearne Solanke smiling with a custom cake decorated with candles, stars, and crowns. However, months later, the joyous teenager was found stabbed to death in Thamesmead’s Titmuss Avenue late on Saturday evening.
Second Teen Murdered in Abbey Wood
Just a mile away in Abbey Wood, Charlie Bartolo was also fatally stabbed on Sewell Road. Paramedics rushed to the scene but were unable to save him. Grief-stricken witnesses watched as police launched a murder investigation.
Police Seek Dark SUV in Linked Killings
Detective Superintendent Richard McDonagh of the Metropolitan Police confirmed both murders are connected. He appealed for witnesses who saw a dark SUV or 4×4 with silver roof bars near the crime scenes in the days before the killings.
“Talented detectives will work tirelessly to find the truth and bring answers to the families,” said McDonagh. “These senseless murders have deeply saddened and outraged the community.”
A forensics tent remained visible in Titmuss Avenue as local teenagers left flowers in tribute. Officers continue to urge anyone with information to come forward and help stop more violence in the area.
