A fatal fire broke out at a property on Reventlow Road, Southeast London, on Sunday afternoon, resulting in the death of one man.
Police, paramedics, and four fire crews arrived at the scene shortly after 4pm. Despite their prompt response and efforts, a person was found deceased inside the burning house.
Specialists from the London Fire Brigade are working alongside the Metropolitan Police to investigate the cause of the fire. A blue tarpaulin has been placed over the front door, and CID officers along with forensic teams are conducting examinations at the scene.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “At 4.09pm on Sunday, 11 December police were called to assist the London Fire Brigade at a fire in Reventlow Road, SE9. Sadly, the incident has resulted in the death of one man. Officers are working to inform his next of kin. Emergency services remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.”
Both the London Fire Brigade and ambulance service have been contacted for comment as the investigation continues.
