A 19-year-old drug dealer from Eastbourne, Jay Farley, has been sentenced to two years and two months in prison for distributing Class A and B drugs in the local area. Farley operated his illegal drug dealing from June 2022 until February 2023, using bulk text messages to arrange sales.
Farley was arrested on February 8 during a plainclothes police patrol on Susans Road, Eastbourne. This arrest was part of a coordinated effort involving Operation Orochi and Operation Centurion, which target the county lines drug network across Sussex. Police officers from Sussex, Surrey, and the Metropolitan Police collaborated to apprehend him.
Investigations revealed that Farley was supplying cannabis and cocaine within Eastbourne. Following raids, Eastbourne CID charged him with two counts of drug supply after discovering mobile phones directly linked to his drug dealing activities.
On March 10, Farley appeared at Lewes Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to the charges. He was sentenced to 26 months imprisonment for his involvement in drug dealing.
Chief Inspector Di Lewis commented, “Farley was caught because of bulk advertising texts. A search of his home found phones linked to drug dealing. This case shows how police forces are working together to smash county lines and protect our communities from the harm caused by drugs.”
