A dramatic crash occurred at 4.05 a.m. on April 7 in Westhorne Avenue, Eltham, SE9, when a car flipped onto its back at the Yorkshire Grey Roundabout.
London Ambulance Service teams quickly arrived at the scene, supported by an air ambulance, two ambulance crews, a medic in a fast response car, and an incident response officer.
The 23-year-old male driver was pulled from the overturned vehicle and transported to a hospital in east London. Police confirmed that his injuries are not life-threatening.
Officers secured the area around the Yorkshire Grey Roundabout where the collision took place. The Metropolitan Police released a statement saying: “Police were called at 04:01hrs on Friday, 7 April to reports of a road traffic collision at the Yorkshire Grey Roundabout, SE9. Officers, the London Ambulance Service, and the London Air Ambulance attended. A car had overturned at the scene. LAS recovered a 23-year-old male from the overturned vehicle and transported him to an east London hospital where his condition was not life threatening. No arrests were made.”
Images from the scene showed the car flipped onto its back, underlining the severity of the incident. The investigation is ongoing, but no suspects have been detained at this time.
