Neighbours in Belvedere, near Bexleyheath, were left stunned after a 47-year-old mother and her two young sons were found dead at their family home on Mayfield Road. The tragic discovery was made on Thursday lunchtime.

The victims have been identified as Nadja De Jager, a managing director of a local real estate firm, and her two sons, aged seven and nine. Authorities were called to the scene at 11:50 a.m. following concerns for the family’s welfare.

One local resident expressed shock at the grim find, saying, “I’m absolutely shocked. The first sign something was wrong was when the police arrived at lunchtime. I’ve since learned that Nadja and her two sons are no longer alive.” She added, “I didn’t know her well, just said hello, but she was always smart and her kids looked well cared for.”

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation. A spokesperson stated: “Detectives are investigating the deaths of three people at an address in south London. Next of kin have been notified. Post-mortem examinations will be scheduled soon.”

“At this early stage, police are not actively looking for anyone else in connection with the case. A crime scene remains in place.” The London Ambulance Service also attended the scene. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward, but currently, no suspects have been identified.
