A 19-year-old drug dealer from Eastbourne, Jay Farley, has been sentenced to two years and two months behind bars. Farley was found dealing Class A and Class B drugs across Eastbourne from June 2022 to February 2023. He used bulk text adverts and mobile phones to arrange drug deals throughout the town.
Farley was arrested on February 8 during a plainclothes police operation on Susans Road. This arrest was part of a wider crackdown under Operation Orochi and Operation Centurion, which target county lines drug networks affecting Sussex. The operation involved officers from Sussex Police, Surrey Police, and the Metropolitan Police working together.
Investigators gathered evidence linking Farley to the supply of both cocaine and cannabis. Following an investigation by Eastbourne CID, he was charged with two counts related to drug supply. At Lewes Crown Court on March 10, Farley pleaded guilty and was sentenced accordingly.
Chief Inspector Di Lewis praised the collaborative police effort, stating, “Farley came to our attention through bulk advertising messages. A search of his home found multiple phones linked to his drug dealing. This case highlights the partnership between Sussex Police and the Metropolitan Police to tackle county lines. It shows our determination to catch offenders and cut off harmful drugs in Eastbourne’s communities.”
