An elderly man tragically died after being struck by a van in Coulsdon on Friday, 15 September. The incident occurred at the busy junction of Brighton Road and Woodfield Hill.
Police were called to the scene at 11:35am and launched an urgent response. Officers from the Metropolitan Police arrived alongside London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.
The 90-year-old pedestrian was rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition but sadly passed away four days later, on Tuesday, 19 September.
The van driver remained at the scene and has not been arrested. Detectives from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command are conducting multiple enquiries and are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash but has not yet spoken to police.
Authorities are also appealing for any dash cam footage captured in the area at the time of the collision.
