A tragic crash in South London has resulted in the death of a 90-year-old pedestrian. The fatal collision occurred at the busy junction of Brighton Road and Woodfield Hill in Coulsdon on Friday, September 15.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 11.35am. Police, the London Ambulance Service, and London’s Air Ambulance attended where the elderly man was found with life-threatening injuries. Despite efforts to save him, he passed away four days later on Tuesday, September 19.
The driver of the van involved in the collision remained at the scene and cooperated fully with police. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
Metropolitan Police detectives have launched a witness appeal and are urging anyone who saw the collision or has dashcam footage from the area at the time to come forward. Witness information could be crucial in understanding the circumstances of this tragic event.
