Detectives are investigating after a 13-year-old girl was violently attacked on a London bus in Shepherds Bush. The incident occurred on the Route 283 bus travelling from Hammersmith Broadway to Shepherds Bush Green at approximately 7:30pm on Tuesday, 1 August.
The young victim boarded the bus near Shepherds Bush Green and sat towards the rear. She encountered a woman, believed to be in her late teens or early twenties, who was blocking the aisle with her legs and refused to move.
The suspect then grabbed a drink from the girl, poured it over her, and launched a violent assault. A male passenger attempted to intervene but was also attacked by the woman.
The bus stopped outside the Bush Theatre on Uxbridge Road, where the suspect fled the scene, leaving the victim injured on the floor.
Police have released an image of the suspect and are urging the public to come forward with any information. PC Tom Jasper of the Metropolitan Police’s Roads and Transport Policing Command described the attack as “unprovoked” and “excessively violent.”
He said, “This was an unprovoked assault which resulted in excessive violence being used against a young girl.”

The victim was taken to hospital following the attack and has since been discharged.
