A dramatic emergency unfolded in Thamesmead on the morning of Friday, October 13. After reports of a man self-harming at a home on Rushdene, the London Air Ambulance was scrambled to the scene.
Though the air ambulance touched down at nearby Patchway School, the incident did not occur on school grounds. Emergency services responded rapidly to the situation.
Shortly after 9am, the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service rushed to the address following reports of a man with stab wounds. On arrival, officers found the man seriously injured and administered urgent care before rushing him to hospital.
The man remains in critical condition as doctors monitor his recovery closely. Police have launched a full inquiry into the incident but have released few details so far. Enquiries continue to uncover what led to this shocking self-harm event.
