A peaceful morning on Kingsgate Road in Kilburn was disrupted when a man was seen carrying a firearm. Police responded swiftly after eyewitnesses reported the armed individual on the residential street.
The suspect fled the scene in a car, leading to a high-speed chase that ended abruptly near the junction of Streatley Road and Buckley Road. The vehicle crashed, bringing the pursuit to a stop.
Officers arrested a man in his mid-20s at the crash site. He now faces charges relating to firearms offences and dangerous driving.
Emergency services closed local roads to manage the situation, with a police van blocking the cordoned-off area.
According to the Metropolitan Police, “Officers were called at 11:18am on Monday, 16 October to Kingsgate Road, NW6. A man reported seeing another man with a firearm who then fled in a car. The car was involved in a collision on Buckley Road near the junction with Streatley Road. A man in his mid-20s has been arrested on suspicion of driving and firearms offences.”
