A man is fighting for his life after a terrifying motorcycle crash on a busy South London street in the early hours of October 28. The incident occurred around 4:15am on Tooting Bec Road, near Tooting Common.
Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene near the junction with Aldrington Road (SW16) to find the motorcyclist badly injured. He was rushed to hospital and remains in a critical condition. At this time, little is known about his identity.
The A214 Tooting Bec Road remains closed in both directions between West Drive and Garrads Road as the crash investigation continues. Traffic sensors confirm the road closure while officers work at the scene.
The Metropolitan Police issued an update on the incident, stating: “Police were called at approximately 04:15 hrs on Saturday, 28 October to reports of a motorbike in collision with a lamppost in Tooting Bec Road, near the junction with Aldrington Road, SW16. The rider of the motorbike – a man (no further details) – was taken to hospital for treatment; he remains there in a critical condition. Road closures remain in place. Enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
