Two men from Norwich have been arrested and charged after a pre-planned police raid aimed at disrupting drug supply in the area. The Metropolitan Police carried out the operation on Wednesday, 8 April, executing warrants that resulted in serious charges.
John Cann, 47, of Southwell Road, Norwich NR1, faces two counts of conspiring to supply Class A drugs, specifically heroin and cocaine. Meanwhile, Scott Ives Keeler, 38, from Motum Road, Norwich NR5, is charged with two counts of conspiring to supply Class A drugs and possession of a prohibited firearm, identified as a Taser.
Both men were remanded in custody and are due to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 8 April.
This latest action follows earlier arrests linked to the same investigation. On Wednesday, 1 April, the Metropolitan Police arrested five suspects from Norwich’s north and east areas. All five were charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, with their next court hearing scheduled for Thursday, 30 April.
Police have stated that the operation has dealt a significant blow to the local drug network, targeting the supply of heroin and cocaine in Norwich.
