Detectives have reopened the cold case of Donna Keogh, who disappeared aged just 17 nearly 30 years ago in Leeds. The teenager vanished under mysterious circumstances, and police are now focusing on key clues around Chapeltown in a renewed effort to solve the case.
Donna Keogh, originally from Middlesbrough, was last seen in Leeds town centre on 28 April 1998. Despite extensive searches, her body has never been found. Authorities believe foul play was involved and that Donna was murdered shortly after her disappearance.
It has now been confirmed that Donna was being exploited at the time she went missing, adding a disturbing dimension to the investigation.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Steven Chatterton said, “Our investigation has taken us back to Leeds, particularly Chapeltown. We are revisiting a number of important lines of enquiry. We’re urging anyone who saw Donna, spoke to her, or knows anything about her movements in Leeds in 1998 to come forward. Even the smallest detail could hold the key.”
He added, “Donna’s family have lived with unbearable uncertainty for nearly 30 years. We remain close to them and are determined to find out what happened for their sake. Donna’s father, Brian, sadly passed away without ever knowing the truth. Somebody out there knows what happened. Please get in touch. You can contact us directly or report anonymously.”
