The driver was found to be three times over the legal drink-drive limit while carrying three children in the vehicle, posing a serious risk to other road users and passengers.

Several motorists contacted authorities to report erratic and reckless driving on the M6 through Staffordshire. This prompt public response enabled police to safely intercept the vehicle.

Upon stopping the car, officers discovered the driver’s blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit, indicating severe impairment while driving.

Three children were in the car at the time of the incident. Police confirmed that all the children were unharmed and have been safely returned to their families.

The Staffordshire Road Crime Team emphasised that the driver’s reckless behaviour endangered not only his children but everyone on the road, highlighting the serious dangers of drink-driving.
