Two men were arrested following a significant drug bust in Calne, where police uncovered a haul valued at tens of thousands of pounds. The operation led to the seizure of cocaine, cannabis, cash, and a taser.
On March 4, 2021, Chippenham and Calne neighbourhood officers, supported by search teams, conducted a raid on a property located on Linnet Road, Calne. During the search, officers found approximately £12,620 worth of cocaine and cannabis valued between £16,000 and £25,000. In addition, over £12,000 in cash and a fully operational taser were seized.
Following the raid, two men were charged in connection with the drugs. Leuan Davies, 31, of Sidney Wood Court, Chippenham, faces charges including conspiracy to supply cocaine, supply of cannabis, and possession of criminal property. Michael Purchase, 30, of Halifax Road, Bowerhill, Melksham, is charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs, cannabis supply, possession of a firearm, and possession of criminal property.
Both men are scheduled to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court on December 13.
Sergeant Nick Kelly commented on the case, stating, “A significant amount of class A drugs—which could have caused serious harm—along with a large sum of cash was seized following this warrant last year. A lengthy investigation has led to these charges, and I am pleased justice is moving forward.”
