Police have seized a grey Hyundai i30 as part of their investigation into the brutal murder of Ashley Dale in Old Swan last August. The vehicle, which had been previously circulated to the public, is now undergoing forensic tests to uncover vital clues.

Officers were called to a Leinster Road address at 12:40pm on Sunday 21 August after concerns were raised for a woman. Emergency services found Ashley in the rear garden suffering from a gunshot wound. She was rushed to hospital but tragically died shortly after.

Detective Chief Inspector Cath Cummings, Senior Investigating Officer, said: “Although this vehicle has now been seized, we’re still keen to speak to anyone who saw its movements. We believe that the car was driven in the Dovecot and Page Moss areas, including Pilch Lane, on the night of Ashley’s murder.”

She added, “We urge local residents to come forward if they saw the car, know who was driving, witnessed pick-ups, or have CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage.”

If you have any information that could help the investigation, police urge you to get in touch anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting reference 2200061587. You can also contact Merseyside Police through social media @MerPolCC or call 101.
