Jordan Parker, a brazen drug dealer from Tyneside, has been sentenced to five years in prison after police uncovered crack cocaine, weapons, and a large amount of cash at his home in Gateshead.
Despite being under investigation, Parker continued to break the law openly, prompting a police raid on his property on Denton View as part of Project Adder, an initiative aimed at tackling drug crime in the region.
During the raid, officers from Northumbria Police found a dangerous combination of illegal items including crack cocaine, cannabis, a BB gun, a machete, a knuckle duster, a taser, and an extendable baton. Cash was also discovered hidden throughout the property.
This search followed an earlier raid in May 2022, where officers seized £1,500 worth of drugs concealed in a disguised coke can, along with weapons.
Parker’s crime spree came to a halt after a series of arrests and a notable incident in July when he crashed his car into a wall in Winlaton. Members of the public detained him until police arrived. Upon searching the vehicle, officers found a machete, nearly £2,000 in cash, and additional drugs.
He was charged with 14 offences, including conspiracy to supply drugs, possession of firearms, and careless driving. Parker appeared at Newcastle Crown Court and was sentenced to five years imprisonment.
Detective Sergeant Fran Joyce of Northumbria Police commented, “Jordan Parker was brazen in breaking the law. Not only was he aware he was under investigation, but he was caught two months later with illegal substances after a dangerous crash. Thanks to the public’s quick action in detaining him, we secured a strong case resulting in his conviction. Communities are fed up with criminals like Parker thinking they can flout the law.”
She added, “Project Adder will carry on disrupting supply chains, supporting vulnerable people, and prosecuting offenders to protect our communities.”
