Police have arrested a 20-year-old man, Kyle Middleton, in connection with the disappearance of 14-year-old Mia Lupton from the Isle of Wight. Officers are urgently searching for Mia, who was last seen near Southampton ferry on Friday, 24 November.
Mia, a teenager from Ryde, was last spotted getting off a ferry in Southampton at 2.30pm on 24 November. Since then, she has not been seen or heard from. On the day of her disappearance, Mia missed school, sold her phone, and vanished without a trace.
Her family raised the alarm after discovering Mia had been communicating online with a man from the Midlands. There are concerns she may have met him in Croydon before going missing. Mia is just 14 years old, and the man was aware of her age.
Police have released two new photos of Mia to assist in locating her. She is described as white, 5ft 2ins tall, with a slim build and very long blonde hair streaked with pink. When last seen, she was wearing grey or black trousers and a black puffa coat.
Inspector Rob Abel said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Mia’s safety the longer she is missing. We want to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard from her since Friday afternoon.” He added a direct message to Mia: “If you are reading this, please get in touch with your family or us so we know you’re safe.”
The investigation continues with Kyle Middleton arrested as part of the ongoing inquiry. Police are exploring a possible link to a meeting in Croydon with a man from the Midlands and believe Mia may have travelled to the Birmingham area.
Family concerns are growing amid the lack of contact since Mia’s disappearance. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Hampshire Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 44170458126. The public has already helped share the appeal, and police have thanked everyone for their support.
