A 12-year-old girl was seriously injured after being struck by a motorbike in Sunbury-on-Thames last night.

The collision occurred just after 6.20pm on 16 July on Grovely Road, near Oak Hall Drive. The girl was crossing the road when a Yamaha motorcycle hit her.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and the girl was quickly taken to St George’s Hospital for urgent treatment. The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Police closed both directions of Grovely Road while emergency crews, including the air ambulance, attended to the injured girl. The road is expected to reopen once the incident has been cleared.

Surrey Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward. Witnesses can contact police on 101 quoting reference PR/P18169478.
