Emergency crews rushed to Newgate Gap, Cliftonville, Kent, on Monday, April 13, after a 53-year-old man was found dead amid welfare concerns. Police and paramedics arrived at the scene at approximately 11:27am but sadly pronounced the man deceased on-site.
Kent Police have confirmed that the death is being treated as non-suspicious. A spokesperson stated: “Kent Police was called following concerns for the welfare of a man in Newgate Gap, Margate, at 11.27am on Monday 13 April. Officers attended along with South East Ambulance Service and a 53-year-old man was pronounced deceased. His next of kin have been informed. The death is being treated as non-suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”
Following the incident, police quickly sealed off a large section of the area. Cordons were established along Ethelbert Crescent, stretching from the children’s play park towards Queen’s Court, including the slope leading down to the beach. Local residents and visitors are urged to avoid the area while investigations are ongoing.
