PC Elliot Booker-Keep, a South Area Command officer, has been banned from policing following an incident where he threw a bin at his ex-partner’s car, causing significant damage to the windscreen.
The Metropolitan Police Service’s Deputy Commissioner, Helen Ball, strongly condemned Booker-Keep’s behaviour during a misconduct hearing held on July 15.
The incident came to light after PC Booker-Keep was arrested on January 2, 2022, for criminal damage during an off-duty event. He later pleaded guilty at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on June 8, receiving a three-month conditional discharge, £85 in court costs, and a £22 victim surcharge.
Following the arrest, Kent Police launched an investigation once the Metropolitan Police were informed of the case. PC Booker-Keep was subsequently placed on restricted duty during the inquiry.
The Directorate of Professional Standards concluded that Booker-Keep breached professional conduct through “discreditable conduct.” As a result, he has been added to the College of Policing’s Barred List.
This ban prevents PC Booker-Keep from working for any police force, local policing bodies, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), or Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC), effectively ending his career in law enforcement.
