Rapper Chris Kaba was shot dead after a police chase in Lambeth. Friends have identified the 21-year-old rapper following the shooting by armed officers after a dramatic pursuit.

Social media tributes have poured in, with friends demanding answers about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

One friend, who wished to remain anonymous, said he had been chatting with Chris Kaba and had arranged to play online football together. After the shooting, he repeatedly tried to call but was unable to get through.

Heartbroken friends gathered at the scene, seeking clarity about what had happened.

On Monday, September 5th, at 9.51pm, armed police officers pursued a suspect vehicle in Lambeth. The car was stopped after tactical contact in Kirkstall Gardens, Streatham Hill.

During the stop, a police officer discharged a firearm. Chris Kaba, who was an occupant in his twenties, sustained a gunshot wound.

The London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance responded quickly to the scene. Officers provided first aid before taking Chris Kaba to hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after midnight.

Next of kin are being informed as the area remains cordoned off with road closures in place.

The Metropolitan Police’s Directorate of Professional Standards has referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which has launched a full investigation.

The IOPC and police continue to investigate the incident. More details are awaited as the local community seeks answers.
