Three people have died after a night out ended in tragedy at the Muffler nightclub in Newport, Wales. Five friends went missing following their visit to the nightclub late on Friday night.
The missing individuals include Sophie Russon, 20, Eve Smith, 21, Darcy Ross, 21, and two men who have been identified by family members as Shane Loughlin and Rafel Jeanne-Actie.
Gwent Police confirmed that a car carrying three of the five friends was found this morning. Tragically, three occupants inside the vehicle were discovered dead after an urgent search was conducted.
Specialist officers are currently supporting the families affected as the investigation continues. The car belonging to one of the missing women remains at the nightclub where the group was last seen.
Authorities have urged anyone with information to contact police by calling 101 or by messaging using the hashtag #2300071791 on social media platforms.
The case has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) in line with standard protocol.
