PC Bilal Naveed, a police officer from the North-East Borough Command Unit (BCU) of the Metropolitan Police, was arrested on 21 April in connection with an assault that occurred on Saturday, 1 April, while he was off duty.

Following his arrest, PC Naveed has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 24 April.

The Directorate of Professional Standards and the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) are actively involved in the investigation, ensuring full oversight of the case.

In response to the charges, PC Naveed has been suspended from duty pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
