A motorcyclist has died in a collision with a car on the M25 near Lakeside. The crash occurred after the car was being pursued by police.

Essex Police responded to the scene around 11:40 pm on Sunday, 14 April. Despite their prompt arrival, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The collision involved a car and a motorcycle.

Kent Police had been chasing the car prior to the crash. In line with procedure, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has been called to investigate both the police pursuit and the collision.

Part of the roundabout at junction 30 was closed for several hours to allow accident investigation work to take place. The road was reopened by 10:30 am on Monday, 15 April.

Essex Police are appealing for anyone with dashcam footage or information about the incident to come forward. When contacting police, please quote incident number 1331 of 14 April. Call 101 for non-emergencies or 999 in an emergency.
