A cyclist was rushed to hospital by air ambulance following a collision with a white Citroën on a busy Portsmouth roundabout.
The crash occurred shortly after 6pm on Thursday, June 1st, at the Fratton roundabout. Hampshire Police confirmed that officers from Havant’s Road Policing unit are at the scene investigating the incident.
Paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service found the cyclist with serious injuries. After receiving treatment at the scene, the cyclist was airlifted to a major trauma centre in Southampton.
The collision has caused significant traffic disruption, leaving Fratton Road and Goldsmith Avenue gridlocked, with road closures still in place.
The driver of the white Citroën remained at the scene and is cooperating with police enquiries. More updates will follow as the investigation continues.
