The Lee-based coastguard helicopter Rescue 175 was scrambled this evening for a vital medical transfer from the Isle of Wight.
In a race against time, two patients were airlifted just before midnight on Tuesday, speeding their journey to life-saving treatment.
The patients were handed over to the South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, who took over for the final leg to Portsmouth hospital.
This daring rescue highlights the crucial role of air support in critical medical emergencies across the Solent region.
