A cyclist was hospitalised after being involved in a crash with a bus in Portsmouth this afternoon. The incident occurred just after 2pm at the busy Hilsea Roundabout.
The man collided with a single-decker bus operating on the Paulsgrove route. Emergency services, including the Hazardous Area Response Team and two land ambulances from South Central Ambulance Service, quickly arrived at the scene to provide assistance.
A Hampshire Police spokesperson confirmed that the cyclist sustained minor injuries and was taken to QA Hospital in Cosham for treatment.
Police closed a bus lane on Hilsea Roundabout, resulting in heavy traffic delays. Officers managed traffic flow using a single lane while emergency crews attended to the incident.
All emergency vehicles had cleared the area by around 3pm. The crash caused significant traffic congestion around this key Portsmouth junction.
