A car smashed into a Blue Star double-decker bus on Shirley Road in Southampton, leaving 14 passengers trapped onboard and causing major traffic chaos.
The collision happened just before 11:45am on Wednesday at the junction with Cawte Road.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene. Firefighters from Redbridge and St Mary’s stations, along with paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service, were quick to respond.
Two people were treated at the scene and rushed to Southampton General Hospital for further care. Fortunately, the bus driver escaped without injury.
Shirley Road remains closed while crews work to free the trapped passengers and clear the wreckage. Motorists are warned to expect delays as recovery and cleanup efforts continue.
