A woman has been rushed to hospital after a collision with a bus on the busy A30 London Road near Bagshot.
Police quickly closed both sides of the A30 to clear the wreckage and to clean up spilled acid from the bus’s batteries. The crash left the bus powerless, forcing recovery crews to manually release the brakes before towing it away.
The woman is believed to have sustained a broken leg and damaged ribs. Emergency services treated two people at the scene before rushing them to Frimley Park Hospital. Thankfully, neither is in a life-threatening condition.
Meanwhile, a separate three-vehicle collision on New Road, Bagshot, resulted in two more people needing hospital care. Police also closed New Road and blocked M3 access from Widdlesham, forcing drivers onto local diversions.
South East Coast Ambulance Service said, “We were called just before half nine about a collision on the A30 involving a car and lorry. While attending that, another crash happened in front of us involving three vehicles. We dispatched a second ambulance. Two patients were taken to Frimley Park hospital and are stable.”
Police remain on the scene investigating both crashes and managing significant traffic disruption for commuters.
