Kent Police were called to New Street in Folkestone at 1.15pm on Thursday, 6 October following reports of a man being assaulted outside a property.
The victim, a man in his 40s, sustained a serious head injury. He was airlifted by an air ambulance to a hospital in London for urgent treatment. The South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended the scene to provide medical assistance.
Following the incident, police arrested two men from Folkestone. A 41-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were taken into custody on suspicion of assault in connection with the attack.
Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are leading the investigation. They have issued an appeal for anyone who witnessed the assault or has dashcam footage to come forward as a matter of urgency.
