Just before 11pm on Saturday, February 11, 2023, a tragic crash occurred on the A20 Gorse Hill near Farningham. A red VW Polo GTI collided head-on with a white Mercedes Sprinter close to the junction with Eglantine Lane.
Emergency services, including officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service, responded quickly to the scene. Sadly, a female passenger in the VW, known to her family as “Darcy,” a late-teen from South East London, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four other passengers from the VW were taken to hospital. Two remain in hospital, with one in serious but stable condition and the other stable.
Both men believed to be the drivers involved in the crash were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They have been bailed and are due to return to the police station for further questioning.
Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is leading the investigation. Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward immediately.
