Emergency services responded to a serious crash near the Dartford Crossing on Saturday afternoon, 14 October 2023. At 2.24pm, a white Iveco articulated HGV struck a pedestrian on the slip road from the Londonbound A2, just before it joins the A282 towards the Dartford Crossing.
The pedestrian, a man in his 80s, was seriously injured and was rushed to hospital by South East Coast Ambulance Service. He remains in a serious but stable condition.
A 59-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and is currently in police custody.
Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to come forward. They are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who saw the collision or has dashcam footage that could assist with their investigation.
